Attacks on Bangladeshi Hindu continue unabated. A temple situated in Pirganj, Thakurgaon district of Bangladesh was vandalised by a Muslim gang, as per Hindu rights activists. Several murtis have been destroyed.
10 Hindu devotees, including women, were also assaulted and injured by the attackers.
Not a day goes by without an attack of some kind on Hindus in Muslim-majority Bangladesh, which claims to be a ‘tolerant’ Islamic country. Bangladesh has also been given a certificate of tolerance by the US government – the controversial US federal body USCIRF (United States International Commission for Religious Freedom) has designated Bharat as a ‘country of particular concern’ while ignoring Bangladesh altogether.
Even the Government of India has failed to hold Bangladesh accountable for the unending persecution of Hindus and other minorities. While the Sheikh Hasina government has a vested interest in partnering Bharat to tackle the hardline jihadi terror groups that threaten her government as well, she turns a blind eye to the everyday atrocities meted out on hapless Hindus by extremist maulanas and other Islamists, including leaders of her own Awami League party.
