Temple desecration in Noida, UP: murtis broken, blood spilled near Shivling

A temple has been desecrated and vandalised in Noida, UP – murtis were broken and blood spilled near the Shivling. Police is probing the matter.

The Shiv mandir located in Bahlolpur village, Sector-63 Kotwali area was desecrated late on Sunday night. The murti of Bhagwan Shiv was found broken the next morning and the pujari informed villagers who gathered in large numbers.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and registered a case against unidentified persons. CCTV footage is being examined. DCP Harish Chander said that it appears the accused hurt his hand while breaking the murti and his blood was found in the temple premises. There were reports that meat was also thrown in the temple, but police has denied that.

Angry villagers protested against some meat shops located near the temple, and forced them to down shutters for the day. The villagers have demanded that no such shops should be allowed within proximity of the temple.
