A 15-year-old Hindu girl from a Scheduled Caste family has been reported missing from the Sankisa police station area late Thursday night. As per Jagran, the girl’s family has lodged a formal complaint naming a local Islamist youth from the same village, alleging that he took the minor away without consent.
According to the FIR, the accused had been in contact with the girl for some time and allegedly persuaded her to leave the house. The family has also reported that gold jewelry and around ₹80,000 in cash were missing from their home following the incident. They further stated that members of the accused youth’s family may have had prior knowledge of the act, a claim that is now under investigation by the police.
When the girl’s father confronted the accused’s family, a dispute broke out, during which caste-based insults were allegedly directed at the Hindu family, and stones were reportedly thrown at their house. While no physical injuries were reported, the family has stated that the incident has created fear and insecurity within the household.
This case is particularly sensitive, as the minor belongs to a Scheduled Caste Hindu family, a group already vulnerable to social pressure and intimidation tactics. The father has appealed for immediate police action to ensure the safety and recovery of his daughter. Station House Officer (SHO) Ajab Singh confirmed that a written complaint has been received. “An investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to locate the girl. Action will be taken strictly on the basis of evidence,” he said. Police teams have been deployed to trace the minor, and inquiries are ongoing regarding the role of the accused and his family members.
The incident also highlights a repeated pattern of targeting girls from economically and socially vulnerable communities, particularly Scheduled Caste families, through emotional manipulation and promises. In a recent case reported from Muzaffarnagar, a Scheduled Caste Hindu girl was allegedly abducted and converted by a married Islamist man with four children from Meerut, raising serious concerns about organized exploitation networks operating under the guise of relationships.
Given these recurring cases, it is important that law enforcement treats such incidents with urgency and seriousness, especially when the victim is a minor and belongs to a Hindu community. Authorities must ensure that investigations are conducted swiftly, evidence is secured, and strict legal provisions, such as POCSO, IPC abduction sections, and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, are applied where applicable to curb this radical Islamist abduction and conversion.
