Amidst the Israel-Hamas war, several videos of sermons given at the Al-Aqsa mosque from the past have been surfacing on and off on social media platform X. Recently a video of an anti-India rally that took place at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on 10 June 2022 surfaced on X a few days ago. This video seems to have been shot in the aftermath of the Nupur Sharma incident from 2022. 

In this video, there are several hundreds of people gathered in a group are seen chanting, “Hindus, you filthy Hindus… Muhammad is the master of all people! Say Allah Akbar!”

A Palestinian Islamic scholar, Nidhal Siam, is seen giving a speech to the people gathered; here is the speech transcript.  

“Praised be Allah, the Lord of Mankind. Oh, Muslims, do you see the infidels’ successive affronts and hostilities towards the Messenger of Allah? We barely got clear of France’s affronts when we had to encounter the affronts (insults) by the Hindus, the cow-worshippers. These affronts are nothing less than a war against Islam and the Muslims. The infidels take turns waging this war against the Muslims. First, it was America with its aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan, and then along came Sweden with its kidnapping of Muslim children. France attacked once, the Russians multiple times, then there is China with its crimes, and now the Hindu cow-worshippers, who have destroyed mosques, killed Muslims, and destroyed their villages. Now they slander the Master of Mankind; peace be upon him. The one and only reaction to such a thing is to declare Jihad for the sake of Allah and to open up battlefronts for fighting so that the army can have its say by disciplining the infidels and polytheists and by eradicating them.”

He adds, “The treason and villainy of the Muslim rulers embolden the cow-worshippers to affront the Master of Mankind. From the Al-Aqsa Mosque, we are addressing the armies of the Muslims – in Egypt, the Hijaz, Turkey, Jordan, and all the Muslim countries. We say to them: Where are you? Is it not high time that you supported your religion and Prophet? Is it not high time that you liberated your countries?”

He calls on the people of Pakistan to launch attacks on its Hindu neighbour – Bharat. He says, “As for you, oh, people of Pakistan, you have a greater duty than others in fighting the Hindus. They are right there on your border, occupying parts of your land and killing your people. You have a great army that is capable of disciplining the Hindus, making them forget the whispers of Satan.” 

We all remember and need to remember how the Islamists reacted to what Nupur Sharma said; she had just reproduced what was mentioned in their religious texts. There were fatwas against her, she was made to apologise, and she still cannot come out in the open freely. Compare this with the men who beheaded Kanhaiyalal, a tailor in Rajasthan, who merely supported her. They don’t have any fatwas on their heads. 

The Islamic world came together and targeted the unassuming yet courageous Nupur Sharma. Hindus were largely silent and criticised her for speaking the truth. Islamists have made it a habit to keep flashing their victim card and get offended at the very slightest instance. The likes of Rana Ayyub, Waris Pathan, alleged fact-checker Mohammed Zubair (who was single-handedly responsible for the danger caused to Nupur’s life), and Arfa Khanum Sherwani have been standing with the Islamic community. 

When Israel takes action in self-defence against Palestine, these enablers display a “profound sense of humanity” and advocate for their “rights.” Have any of them spoken up for Kashmiri Hindus or the Hindus in Pakistan? Because a non-believer is always a kaffir.
