The events of 1986 Shah Bano case are not that far in history and some of the players involved are still alive, the memories fresh of how Muslim rabble-rousing activists, academics, jurists, and pressure groups can hold a government and its millions of population hostage to an archaic interpretation of Islam just to maintain control over the masses — a vestige of the Muslim League actions in the 1940s.

UCC is not a silver bullet for anything that we have blindly been made to believe by Hindu organizations.
And not sure how many reams and GB have been spent on this appeasement of religion by law, but published endlessly.
Conversion to Islam was always gradual, be it Indonesia or Kashmir or UP. It took generations or years of an individual’s life.
Somehow it never reached the pinnacle in Islam this explains why Indonesia is different.
