Illegal Islamic structure near Srisailam Pathala Ganga raises alarm over alleged land encroachment tactics: Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh

An undated video circulating on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) has raised serious concerns about an alleged illegal Islamic structure under the bridge near the sacred Pathala Ganga in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh. The video shows a small structure draped in a green chadar, resembling a dargah, which local Hindu devotees claim never existed before.

In the video, a Hindu pujari expresses shock and frustration, stating that the structure appeared suddenly without any prior notice or approval. He warns that if such encroachments are not opposed immediately, larger constructions like a mosque could follow in the coming years. The priest emphasized that Srisailam, home to the revered Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site, and any illegal encroachment threatens its spiritual and cultural sanctity.

In the video, a Hindu pujari raises serious concerns, warning that this small structure is part of a deliberate strategy to encroach on Hindu religious lands.

The video has sparked widespread concern among Hindu devotees and activists, who view the structure as a part of a larger agenda of land encroachment under the guise of religious activity. Many online users have called for urgent action to demolish the unauthorized structure and prevent further encroachment.

This incident has also intensified fears about Waqf Board claims, as some allege that if left unchecked, such illegal structures could eventually be registered under Waqf jurisdiction, leading to permanent loss of Hindu religious lands.

Several Hindu organizations and concerned citizens are urging local authorities to investigate the matter swiftly and remove the unauthorized structure to preserve the sanctity of the Srisailam temple complex. Illegal Islamic encroachment on Hindu lands is not a new phenomenon—it has been occurring systematically for several years. This incident near Srisailam Pathala Ganga is yet another example where unauthorized structures have appeared overnight, threatening the sanctity of Hindu religious sites. What is more alarming is the silence of the mainstream and local media, which has failed to report this blatant violation. Without timely action, such encroachments could become permanent, further emboldening those using land jihad tactics to undermine Hindu cultural and spiritual heritage. It is crucial for authorities and the Hindu community to remain vigilant and demand the immediate removal of such illegal structures to protect Bharat’s sacred spaces.
