Fatima Shabna arrested for writing anti-Hindu, pro-Pakistani graffiti in Nitte hostel washroom: Karkala, KA

In a major development, a Muslim female student has been arrested in connection with a shocking incident of anti-Hindu, anti-national, and communally provocative graffiti found inside a women’s hostel bathroom at Nitte Engineering College, Karkala. As per Daijiworld, the accused, identified as Fatima Shabna (21), was taken into custody by the Karkala Rural Police on July 14, following a thorough investigation. She was produced before the Karkala court on the same day.

This arrest pertains to the deeply disturbing incident that occurred on May 7, 2025, when slogans like “Hindustan nahi, Muslimstan bolo,” “Muslim Zindabad,” and “Hindu f** off”* were discovered scrawled in English and Kannada inside the hostel washroom. The graffiti, which clearly targeted Hindu identity and attempted to instigate communal disharmony, was reported by the hostel manager to the Karkala Rural Police, leading to the registration of a case under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for promoting enmity between groups.

The Hindu Post had earlier reported the details of this vile ideological attack, recognizing it not as a prank but as a dangerous attempt to radicalize college spaces and poison young minds against Hindus. Forensic teams had sealed off the washroom, and CCTV footage was analyzed during the course of the investigation, which ultimately led to the identification and arrest of the accused.

Such incidents of communal hatred against Hindus are becoming increasingly common under the Congress-led state government in Karnataka. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s continued Islamic appeasement policies are creating loopholes that embolden Islamist elements to launch hate campaigns even within educational campuses, an alarming trend. Fortunately, in this particular case, the police have taken timely action by arresting the student involved, which is commendable and sets a necessary precedent.
