AP: Love Jihad victim rescued from Jammu after Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan intervention

Tejaswini, the daughter of Sivakumari and Prabhakar Rao from Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, went missing on October 28, 2023. She was a student in Machavaram when her senior, Islamist Amjad from Vijayawada, allegedly groomed her. The two eloped that night. Despite her parents filing a complaint, no action was initially taken.

On June 22, nine months after Tejaswini disappeared, her mother, Sivakumari, sought the help of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Based on the reports from Eenadu, the Deputy CM promptly contacted the police, who formed a team to locate Tejaswini. The investigation revealed that Islamist Amjad had taken Tejaswini to Hyderabad, where, due to financial constraints, they sold their mobile phones and her gold ornaments. Their journey continued through Kerala, Mumbai, and Delhi before they finally settled in Jammu. Islamist Amjad secured a job at a hotel but did not allow Tejaswini to have a mobile phone.

One day, in Amjad’s absence, Tejaswini managed to send an Instagram message to her elder sister. This small but crucial clue enabled the police to track her location. They alerted the Jammu police, who detained both Tejaswini and Amjad. The authorities have arranged for them to be flown back to Vijayawada today.

Based on the reports from The Hindu on July 4 (Thursday), the girl’s mother alleged that Islamist Amzad took her daughter to Jammu and Kashmir with the intention of selling her to mafia gangs there.

“I visited Amzad’s house and pleaded with his parents for information about my daughter’s whereabouts, but they refused to provide any details. Amzad had been changing SIM cards and phones to evade the police for the past eight months. I urge the police to take this case seriously,” the mother said.

Amzad trapped my daughter through social media and planned to hand her over to anti-social elements. I am grateful to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and NTR Police Commissioner P.H.D. Ramakrishna for rescuing my daughter,” she added. The girl reportedly told the police that Amzad did not provide her with adequate food for about a month and confiscated her phone to prevent her from contacting her family. The accused allegedly forced her to wear a hijab to conceal her identity.

Amzad would show me the armed forces patrolling outside the house in Jammu and warn me that the police would shoot me if I tried to leave. Unable to endure the torture, I contemplated ending my life twice,” the girl recounted. “By God’s grace, I was rescued. Thanks to the government and the Machavaram police,” the girl said, urging the authorities to punish the accused.

Recently, several incidents of religious conversion and murder cases surfaced in different parts of Bharat perpetrated by Islamists. This incident is a stark reminder of how authorities often fail to deliver justice without proper political pressure. This is one such case where the Islamist perpetrator roamed free due to the lack of necessary action by the authorities, causing suffering within the Hindu community. It was only due to the intervention and pressure from Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan that the authorities took the necessary action, ultimately succeeding in bringing the Hindu girl back home.
