Between 2021 and 2026, a disturbing pattern has repeatedly surfaced across multiple locations: Hindu temples and spaces of Hindu dharmik pilgrimage sites have been violated through acts such as urination, defecation, and other obscene conduct. These are not minor mischief incidents; they amount to deliberate desecration of sacred premises, shocking devotees, provoking communal tension, and exposing serious gaps in security and deterrence around places of Hindu worship.
The latest case, reported on 10 January 2026, underlines the gravity of this trend. Telangana’s Malkajgiri police detained a 26-year-old man, Altaf, for allegedly entering the Katta Maisamma temple and urinating inside the premises. This report documents 19 major incidents from 2021 to 2026, presenting them in a consolidated manner to highlight the recurring nature of such violations perpetrated by the radical Islamic anti-Hindu elements.
Hyderabad, TS: Islamist man allegedly urinates before murthi Inside Katta Maisamma temple
A shocking incident of alleged temple desecration was reported from Safilguda in Malkajgiri, where a 26-year-old Islamist man is accused of entering the Katta Maisamma Temple and urinating in front of the murthi. The act, carried out inside a sacred space, triggered anger and renewed concerns over the repeated violation of Hindu places of worship.
Police identified the accused as Altaf, a resident of Bidar (Karnataka). According to the case details shared by authorities, the incident was taken seriously under the local jurisdiction, and the matter was formally registered for legal action.
Altaf was arrested under a case registered at Neredmet Police Station and produced before a court. The court subsequently sent him to judicial custody.
2) Haryana: Maulvis linked to Madrasa accused of spitting and urinating near Gorakhnath temple
In Haryana’s Tohana (Sundar Nagar area), a complaint alleged that maulvis connected to a madrasa and mosque deliberately spat and urinated near the Gorakhnath Temple on 8 December 2025. Locals described the act as intentional provocation, and an insult aimed at a nearby Hindu religious site rather than a random public nuisance.
Following the incident, Hindu organizations submitted a written complaint to the City Police Station, calling it a direct assault on religious sentiments and demanding immediate, strict action. The incident further intensified public anger because it involved individuals allegedly associated with religious institutions.
Fatehabad police registered an FIR at the Tohana City Police Station against Billu Pradhan (a Tohana resident) and a maulvi, invoking BNS Sections 299, 3(5), and 351(2). The case is cited as another example of citizens insisting that desecration near temples must be treated as a serious offence, not brushed aside as minor misconduct.
3) Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh: Islamist youth accused of urinating on Shivling near Durga temple
A highly provocative incident emerged from Ashok Nagar under Sarkanda thana kshetra, where an Islamist youth, identified as Ashraf Khan, is accused of urinating on a Shivling located near the Durga Temple on 3 October 2025. For Hindu devotees, the Shivling represents the core of the Shaivite faith, making the allegation deeply inflammatory.
Following the incident, local Hindu groups staged protests and raised slogans demanding immediate arrest. The anger spilled onto the streets, with demonstrators marching and pressing authorities to ensure the accused is not shielded and that the case is handled with urgency.
Bilaspur police stated that a case had been registered and action had been initiated against the accused. The episode became another flashpoint in the wider pattern of obscene acts around Hindu religious structures.
4) MP: Muslim teen allegedly sits on the Bahubali murthi with shoes, posts video on Instagram
In Dewas district, outrage erupted after allegations that an Islamist teen insulted a revered Jain-Hindu symbol at the Gandharvpuri Museum (Sonkatch). The accusation states that he sat on the Bhagwan Bahubali murthi while wearing shoes, filmed the act, took photos, and later uploaded them to Instagram under an ID reportedly named Matin Bos 786. The act was a deliberate display of contempt, amplified further by social media circulation.
Members of the Jain and Hindu communities called it an open humiliation of faith, not a stunt. The incident quickly escalated into a law-and-order issue, with public anger demanding accountability and stronger security at cultural and religious sites.
Based on a complaint by Sarv Hindu Samaj, Sonkatch police registered a case. Alongside demands for the accused’s arrest, citizens also pressed the administration to strengthen museum security, arguing that sacred icons and heritage spaces are being repeatedly targeted for attention, provocation, and ideological vandalism.
5) Pune: Urination on Devi Annapurna inside the Nageshwar temple
A deeply disturbing incident surfaced from Paud village (Mulshi taluka, Pune) after a video went viral showing a 19-year-old man, Chand (Naushad) Shaikh, allegedly urinating on the murthi of Devi Annapurna inside the Nageshwar temple. Locals said CCTV footage and the viral clip triggered immediate outrage, as the act was seen as a direct desecration of a sacred space.
After residents protested, the situation escalated further with allegations that another person present mocked the crowd and issued a taunt suggesting Hindus could do nothing. Such statements, if true, turn an already offensive act into open intimidation, provoking anger and risking communal tension in an otherwise quiet village setting.
A local resident filed a complaint, and villagers reportedly detained the accused and handed him over to police. Protests and anger continued in the area, with locals demanding strict punishment and stronger security for temples to prevent repeat violations.
6) Jodhpur: Two Islamist youths accused of urinating on temple wall
In Dev Nagar, Jodhpur, locals reported that an Islamist youth identified as Nadeem and another youth allegedly urinated on a temple wall. When a nearby woman objected, the Islamist youths allegedly responded with obscene gestures, adding sexual vulgarity to an act already perceived as religious provocation.
The incident triggered immediate public outrage. Residents gathered, protested, and escalated pressure on the administration, arguing that vulgar acts around temples cannot be normalized as public nuisance when the location is intentionally chosen and the response to objections turns abusive and obscene.
Following local protests and demands for arrests, Dev Nagar police reportedly detained the accused, including Nadeem.
7) Ratlam: Imran Sukkha allegedly steps on Shivling, shoots reel
A video-based provocation from Ratlam triggered outrage after Imran Sukkha was accused of placing his foot on a Shivling and filming a social media reel. The alleged act is a calculated insult to Bhagwan Shiva and a direct attack on a central symbol of Hindu faith.
As the video spread, Hindu organizations reportedly approached police demanding action, with public anger amplified by the fact that the act was not accidental; it was recorded, posted, and circulated for attention.
Police arrested the accused after the video went viral, according to reports. The case reinforced a troubling pattern: obscene or humiliating acts aimed at Hindu religious symbols increasingly being weaponized through social media to provoke, polarize, and inflame.
8) Sitapur: Shamsad allegedly enters the temple, eats paan, spits on murthis
In Sitapur, reports said an Islamist man identified as Shamsad allegedly entered a temple and spat paan/pan masala on murthis, in an intentional desecration. The incident reportedly heightened tensions in the area, prompting locals to demand immediate action and accountability.
According to reporting, when devotees confronted him, he allegedly responded with abusive behavior and threats, turning the situation volatile. Police later claimed he was mentally disturbed and under treatment, but the incident still drew strong reactions locally because the act targeted a sacred place and its murthis.
Police arrested Shamsad on 20 October 2024 and produced him before the court, as per reports. This is yet another example where, after committing such a crime, the accused is later labelled mentally unstable to try to escape accountability in the judiciary. If he is truly mentally unstable, why did he go specifically to a temple, why not a church, why not a mosque? Why did he choose a place of Hindu worship to desecrate?
9) Indore: Islamist caught urinating on the wall outside the Hanuman Temple
A CCTV-captured incident from MG Road, Indore, showed an Islamist youth allegedly urinating outside a Hanuman temple, with the clip spreading rapidly on social media. Locals said the viral footage triggered anger among devotees and shopkeepers in the area, as a targeted insult at a public place of worship.
The incident reportedly led to confrontation and public outrage, as citizens demanded immediate action. In such cases, the location matters: when vulgar acts occur at temple walls, communities often interpret them as desecration, because it’s an insult to dharmik principles.
Police registered a case under Section 299 of the BNS and detained the accused for questioning.
10) Lucknow: Temple wall urination alleged; man who objected assaulted with rods and sticks
In Rajajipuram, Lucknow, reports said an Islamist man named Nadeem allegedly urinated on a temple wall, and when local resident Dilip Singh objected, he was allegedly abused and later attacked. The incident escalated beyond desecration into brutal violence, turning a protest into a serious assault case.
According to reports, Dilip Singh was assaulted with iron rods and other weapons, and multiple individuals were booked in connection with the attack. Locals described it as a coordinated retaliation, meant not only to harm the victim but to send a message that objections to such vulgar acts would be met with force.
Police arrested some accused Islamists and registered a case, as reported. The episode stands out because it combines two elements: desecration near a temple and violent intimidation against those who tried to stop it, raising urgent questions about deterrence, public safety, and protection of religious sites.
11) Aligarh: Two muslim youths arrested for urinating inside an ancient Shiva temple
A grave incident of alleged desecration was reported from Akrabad (Aligarh), where two Islamist youths, Sohail and Irfan, were accused of entering the premises of an ancient Bhagwan Shiva temple and urinating inside the sacred premises.
Hindu leaders and local Hindu groups submitted a complaint to the Akrabad police, stating that the act was meant to hurt religious sentiments and demanded strict action. The outrage was intensified by claims that the temple holds strong local religious significance and is visited by devotees from surrounding areas.
Police arrested both accused Islamists following the complaint. The case again raised questions about temple security and the need for firm deterrence against vulgar acts in places of Hindu worship.
12) Dehradun: Viral video shows urination at Kali temple gate; Saddam arrested
In Harrawala near Dehradun, a video went viral showing an Islamist man identified as Saddam allegedly urinating at the gate of a Kali temple. The visual evidence triggered public anger, as devotees said the location, right at the mandir gate, made it a clear act of disrespect and provocation rather than a random roadside act.
Following the clip’s circulation, Dehradun police acted swiftly and registered a case reportedly under BNS Sections 153, 295, and 427, linking the act to potential communal provocation and damage. Reports also noted claims from the accused’s family about his mental health, but the police proceeded with legal action based on the incident and available evidence.
The accused was arrested, and the case became another prominent example of how viral footage of vulgar acts around temples can quickly ignite law-and-order pressure, forcing immediate intervention by authorities.
13) Murshidabad: Muslim youth accused of urinating on Shiva murthi inside village temple
A disturbing incident was reported from Kandar village (Salar block), Murshidabad, where an Islamist youth identified as Ara Sheikh was accused of urinating inside a village temple, near/on a Shivling, with the act captured on video and circulated online. Locals described it as deliberate desecration aimed at humiliating the Hindu faith.
As the video spread, anger grew among villagers and Hindu groups, who demanded police action. The episode again showed a troubling pattern: such acts are increasingly filmed or become viral, turning a single offence into a wider communal flashpoint.
Police reportedly registered a case against Ara Sheikh and made an arrest after the video surfaced, as per reporting. The incident remains cited as a stark warning about how quickly temple desecration cases can escalate when there is visual evidence and public outrage.
14) Ujjain: Latif Khan arrested for urinating on small temples at Ramghat
At Ramghat in Ujjain, an Islamist man identified as Latif Khan (about 60 years old) was accused of urinating on small Hindu temples/shrines along the ghat, an act that devotees described as a direct insult to an important theertha kshetra. A viral clip and eyewitness claims indicated that he continued despite being stopped, after which people detained him and handed him over to the police.
Ujjain’s Mahakal police station registered a case and arrested Latif Khan, booking him under Section 295A of the BNS. Police were also quoted as saying he appeared mentally unstable during initial questioning, a claim often seen in similar cases, but the arrest and booking were carried out based on the allegation and public complaint.
The incident provoked strong reactions because Ramghat is not an isolated spot; it is a public religious space frequented by pilgrims.
15) Sydney: Burqa-clad woman accused of throwing used menstrual pad on Shivling, smearing faeces
In a highly offensive incident reported from Sydney (New South Wales), a burqa-clad Muslim woman was accused of entering a Hindu neighbour’s mandir area and placing a used menstrual pad and soiled tissues on a Shivling, along with allegations of urine and faeces-smearing. The incident was reportedly caught on camera, with the woman and her daughter visible in footage cited by reports.
The case drew intense condemnation because the act combined desecration with extreme filth. Hindu community members said such acts are intended to terrorise and humiliate minority Hindu households abroad, where private shrines and community temples often lack state-level protection.
According to the report, New South Wales Police registered a case against the women. The episode also reignited debate in diaspora communities about hate incidents targeting Hindu religious symbols and the need for stronger legal consequences.
16) Indore: Obscene acts inside Vishweshwar Mahadev temple sanctum
In Indore’s Prakash Nagar, an Islamist youth identified as Wasim alias Abdul Tahir was accused of entering the garbhagriha (sanctum) of Vishweshwar Mahadev Temple and performing obscene acts, alongside allegations of making vulgar comments toward women. Women devotees reportedly recorded the behaviour on video after being repeatedly disturbed, and the clip later spread on social media.
The sanctum is considered the holiest zone of a temple; therefore, obscene behaviour inside it was seen as a deliberate violation of religious boundaries and women’s dignity simultaneously. The incident triggered anger and calls for strict legal action, especially because it involved harassment-like conduct within a sacred space.
Indore police registered a case based on the viral video and arrested the accused.
17) Meerut: Mohammad Shoaib urinates on Shivling in 200-year-old Mahadev temple
A CCTV-captured incident from Rasna village (Meerut) showed an Islamist man identified as Mohammad Shoaib allegedly entering a 200-year-old Mahadev temple and urinating on the Shivling. Priests reportedly discovered the mandir gate was open and a foul smell, checked CCTV, and then the footage went viral, triggering immediate outrage.
After the video spread, Meerut police registered a case and arrested Shoaib. Reports quoted police describing him as mentally challenged or intoxicated, but the central issue remained: the act was carried out inside a sacred temple, recorded on CCTV, and caused anger due to the perceived intentional desecration.
The accused was sent to jail after arrest, as per the report. The case remains one of the most widely cited examples of how temple desecration incidents become flashpoints when captured on camera, forcing immediate policing response. Whenever such incidents occur, the accused is often labelled mentally ill by some Islamic supporters, bootlickers, as a way to deflect responsibility and try to evade strict legal action. He may escape the judiciary for a time, but he cannot escape Bhagwan.
18) Mangaluru: Condoms placed in donation box at Swami Koragajja temple
In Mangaluru, an incident at the Swami Koragajja Temple sparked outrage after reports claimed that three Islamist youths, Nawaz, Rahim, and Taufiq, entered the temple and placed condoms and obscene material into the donation box, alongside allegations of urinating inside the premises.
Reports said the incident became widely discussed locally, with devotees demanding accountability and pointing to the seriousness of targeting a temple’s daan peti, an element directly tied to faith, ritual maintenance, and community trust.
Police reportedly registered a case and detained the accused, as per the available report. The incident is frequently referenced because it combined vulgarity with sacrilege, deliberately introducing obscene material into a sacred temple. Swami Koragajja is one of the most revered daivas of Tulunadu, deeply respected and worshipped with immense faith. He is considered among the most powerful daivas, and such disrespectful, unethical behaviour by the Islamist miscreants is completely unacceptable. Would they accept it if the same were done at their mosque premises?
19) Ghaziabad: Islamist youth caught urinating on Shivling at Dasna Devi Temple
In Dasna (Ghaziabad), an Islamist youth identified as Asif was accused of urinating on a Shivling at the Dasna Devi Temple. Locals reportedly caught him during the act and thrashed him on the spot, after which a video circulated widely on social media.
The incident triggered sharp reactions because it was not merely near the temple boundary; it was alleged to be on a sacred symbol central to Hindu worship. Such acts are meant to provoke and degrade, turning religious spaces into arenas of humiliation.
After the video went viral, the Dasna police reportedly registered a case.
When authorities fail to stand with victims, when offenders are conveniently labelled mentally unstable, and when some politicians and officials act like bootlickers for vote-bank politics and personal benefit, people naturally ask: how will Dharma survive?
Hindu Dharma survived the toughest phases of Islamic and Christian invasions and upheaval because it was never tied to a single throne or institution; it lived in families, temples, maths, and everyday practice. Even when sacred spaces were attacked and power structures changed, saints, acharyas, and local communities preserved learning, rituals, and identity through resilient traditions and decentralised networks. It adapted without surrendering its core values, absorbing shocks while protecting continuity. That civilisational strength is why it endured, and why it still stands today.
Dharma survives when society refuses to surrender, by staying united, documenting every incident, demanding accountability through courts and law, and supporting community institutions that protect temples and traditions. Power respects numbers, consistency, and evidence; not outrage that fades in a day. Keep pressure through lawful protests, RTI/media follow-up, legal aid, and insist on equal standards, fast arrests, proper charges, and punishment.
And remember: Dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ, Dharma protects those who protect Dharma. If the system bends, society must stand straighter, calm, disciplined, and firm, so that faith and justice are not treated as negotiable.
