A tragic incident unfolded in the Uttaran police station area of Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh, where the body of a 16-year-old student, Shailesh Kumar Yadav, was discovered in a gruesome condition near his house on the night of Saturday, November 30, 2024. Based on the reports from OpIndia, the teenager, a 9th-standard student, was found with his head crushed and his body soaked in blood. A blood-stained axe, a mobile phone, and a pair of slippers were also recovered from the scene. The murder is believed to be connected to Shailesh’s relationship with an Islamic girl from his village.
Police have detained five Islamist individuals, including the girl’s parents, grandfather, and another youth, for questioning.
Shailesh, the son of Ashwani Kumar Yadav from the village of Ismail Lala Ka Pura, went missing on Saturday evening after receiving a phone call. When he failed to return home, his worried family tried reaching him, but his phone was switched off. A frantic search among relatives and across the village ensued. Around 11 PM, villagers discovered Shailesh’s lifeless body near a pond approximately 200 meters from his home.
The discovery of a blood-stained axe, a mobile phone, and slippers at the scene raised suspicions. Villagers informed the police that Shailesh had been in a relationship with an Islamic girl from the village for some time. Despite opposition from the girl’s family and repeated warnings to end the relationship, the two reportedly continued to communicate regularly.
Shailesh’s family alleged that the girl’s parents had lured him to their house under false pretenses, killed him, and dumped his body near the pond. During the investigation, police found that the slippers and mobile phone left at the scene belonged to the girl’s father. When the accused father tried on the slippers, they matched perfectly, strengthening suspicions against him.
The police took five suspects into custody: the girl, her father, her mother, her grandfather, and another Islamist youth. All are being interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation. The murder has sparked tension in the village, as it involves members of two different communities. To prevent any escalation, police forces have been deployed in the area. The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and authorities are taking all necessary legal actions to ensure justice is served.
Hindus are often targeted, with Islamist violence and hate crimes against the community being neither new nor rare. These incidents have been escalating over the years. Recently, in Chhattisgarh, a Hindu family of three was brutally murdered in an act of extremist violence attributed to Mukhtar Ansari, with their skeletons discovered 45 days later. Such crimes are occurring across Bharat, and it is imperative for the Hindu community to awaken and unite against this brutality.
