West Bengal: BGB and Bangladeshi citizens tried to stop fencing works in border in Maldah

BGB(Border Guard Bangladesh) with some Bangladeshi citizens tried to stop wired fencing works along the Bharat-Bangladesh international borders in Maldah district of West Bengal. But, as local Hindu villagers reached the borders, BGB and Bangladeshi citizens fled. The incident happened along the Bharat-Bangladesh international borders in Shukdebpur village of Baishnabnagar of Maldah district on the morning of 6th of January, 2025.

As per the local sources, in the morning, labourers were doing wired fencing works under the watch of BSF jawans in shukdebpur village. But, some personnel of BGB and some Bangladeshi citizens came and tried to stop the fencing work. At, first, outnumbered BSF jawans couldn’t do anything.

Soon, the news reached the village. Thousands of Hindu villagers reached the border with sticks. Seeing them, BGB and Bangladeshi citizens fled. Joyous villagers raised ‛Bharat Mata Ki Jay’ and ‛Jai Sri Ram’ slogans.

Some locals informed that BGB tried to stop the fencing works by overpowering the BSF jawans as at that time only few jawans were there on duty. Although, the fencing works were going on on the Bharat’s land. But, villagers reached the border on time. Seeing them, BGB and Bangladeshi citizens fled.
