“India Sets The Ball Rolling On Acquisition Of 26 Rafale Fighter Jets For Indian Navy”, Swarajyamag, October 28, 2023:

“India has taken a major step by submitting a Letter of Request to the French government for the acquisition of 26 Rafale Marine fighter aircraft for the Indian Navy under a government-to-government agreement.

The French government reportedly received the Letter of Request from India a few days ago. They are currently reviewing the request and are expected to provide a response in the near future, ANI reported citing top defence sources.

The Letter of Request (LoR) is akin to a tender document outlining the specific requirements and capabilities that the Indian government seeks in the Rafale Marine aircraft being acquired for the INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya aircraft carriers……”
