Mulanthuruthy police in Kerala’s Ernakulam district arrested a madrasa teacher who exposed himself to a woman who was walking on the road. Vengola Kuringaraveed Abdul Manaf (50) was arrested. Manaf is an Ustad at Marampilly Jamath in the Perumbavoor area.
Manaf, who was riding a bike from Kanjiramattam to Mulanthuruthi, performed a nudity display on the woman who was walking on the road near the Perumpilly bus stop. When the victim tried to capture the images on her mobile, Manaf escaped.
Perumbavoor has gained notoriety for being a lawless land run by radical extremists using Rohingyan illegal infiltrators.
Meanwhile, allegations of irregularity in the evaluation camp of the Plus Two Arabic exam arose from Kozhikode. It is alleged that some teachers who were named in the evaluation camp but did not attend were paid. The complaint is against the camp held at Government Model Higher Secondary School.
As per the rules, teachers appearing for evaluation are given 15 answer sheets each in the morning and afternoon. It is suspected that the papers of those who did not attend the camp were shared and evaluated by others who helped the missing teachers. Collusion between Arabic teachers is behind the move.
Teachers’ organizations themselves say that such activities violate the transparency of exam evaluations. The National Teachers Union(Deseeya Adyapaka Parishath) has filed a complaint regarding the irregularity.
Dr S S Vivekanandan, Joint Director, Higher Secondary Examination Division, informed that an investigation is underway. The National Teachers’ Council demanded that CCTV cameras be installed in the evaluation hall and action taken against the culprits to prevent a repeat of the incident.
What kind of education are such teachers providing to our new generation?
