West Bengal: The Police arrested a Bangladeshi cow smuggler and a Bharatiya agent in Coochbehar

This morning, the Police arrested a Bangladeshi cow smuggler in Mekhliganj of the Coochbehar district of West Bengal. The Police also arrested a Bharatiya agent for helping a Bangladeshi citizen to cross the international border.

The arrested are identified as Abdul Rahim(23) and Prafulla Biswas. Abdul Rahim is a resident of Patgram village of Lalmonirhat district of Bangladesh. On the other hand, Prafulla Biswas is a resident of Nijataraf village of Mekhliganj block of Coochbehar district. 

As per the local sources, the Bangladeshi citizen entered Bharat through the unfenced borders of Mekhliganj block. With the help of a local resident, Prafulla Biswas, the Bangladeshi cow smuggler have entered Bharat. But before smuggling cows to Bangladesh, the Police arrested them. 

Sri Dyutiman Bhattacharya said, “During the primary interrogation, they confessed their crime. The Bangladeshi entered Bharat through the unfenced borders of Lothamari village of Mekhliganj block to smuggle cows. The Bangladeshi also couldn’t show any valid documents for entering the country. So, we arrested them. We are filing a case against them in appropriate sections of the IPC.”
