West Bengal: Several temples are attacked in Dhupguri, angry Hindus protest 

Several Hindu temples came under attack in Dhupguri of Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. Unknown miscreants attacked the Hindu temples and vandalised the Murtis. 

The incident has been reported from the Moronga Choupathi area of the Dhupguri. 

According to the local sources, this morning, on the 18th of May, locals found that the Murtis of the Kali Mata temple, Ram temple and Hari Thakur temple were broken. Kali Mata Murti was vandalised and thrown out of the temple.

Seeing the vandalised Murtis, local Hindus got angry. Thousands of Hindu residents came out on the road. They blocked Dhupguri-Siliguri road. Angry Hindus demanded the arrest of the miscreants immediately. 

Some angry Hindus went to the nearby Kholaigram railway station and blocked the railway track.

A group of angry locals gheraoed a mosque nearby. Some locals alleged that Jihadi elements vandalised the Murti. Police must identify and arrest the accused Jihadis. A massive police force reached the spot and controlled the situation. 

The situation in the area is still tense. A massive police force is deployed in the area. As of now, no one has been arrested.
