West Bengal: Maniul Haque and Naynal Abdul gang-raped a woman in running train, arrested

A brutal case of gang-rape has been reported from Alipurduar district of West Bengal. Two Muslim youths allegedly gangraped a woman inside running train. Already, the two accused youths have been arrested. They are identified as Maniul Haque and Naynal Abdul.

The woman is a resident of Alipurduar town of West Bengal. On Saturday, She boarded the Down Sifang Express (Guwahati-Alipurduar) with her child. She boarded into an unreserved compartment of that train. 

She said, “In Kokrajhar Station, two youths boarded into the compartment and sat in front of me. Around 9.45 PM, when the train reached Srirampur station of Alipurduar division, all remaining passengers from the compartment got off. Only the two youths and I were in the compartment.”

She further narrated, “There was no one except me. They first proposed me to have sex with them. But, when I didn’t agree, they snatched my child and threatened to throw my child from running train. Thus, they forced me to be silent. Then they repeatedly raped me.”

On duty, RPF personnel said that on that night on 11PM, when Sifang Express was entering platform at Alipurduar station, the woman jumped out of the train and then was running in station, shouting for help. Hearing her, RPF personnel ran towards her. She narrated about the torture and pointed towards an unreserved compartment after engine. 

With her, RPF personnel reached to the unreserved compartment and arrested the two youths, Maniul Haque and Naynal Abdul. Both are residents of Kokrajhar district of Assam. Later, they were handed over to GRP.   They were sent to five days custody of GRP by while produced in Alipurduar ACJM Court.
