West Bengal: Hindu temple vandalised in Howrah on ‘Shab-e-Barat’ night, Murti desecrated

On the night of ‘Shab-e-barat’, a Hindu temple came under attack in the Mishrapara locality of Bankra under the jurisdiction of the Domjur Police Station of Howrah district.

As per the local sources, this morning, local Hindus found a Hindu temple vandalised. Various things in the temple, including the Murti, are also vandalised. Also, a nearby temple is attacked.

A local said that probably last night, the temple was attacked. They also stated that they had no idea about who did this.

As the news spread, local Hindus in large numbers came out on the streets. They blocked the road and demanded to arrest the accused immediately.

A massive police force reached the area. The Police officials negotiated with the protesters and promised to arrest the perpetrators.

As of now, no one has been identified or arrested. However, the situation in the area remains tense.
