UP: Mandir purified after Muslim man poses as Hindu pujari in Meerut; Locals suspect deliberate conspiracy

“UP: Temple purified after Muslim man poses as Hindu pujari in Meerut; Locals suspect deliberate conspiracy”, Organiser, July 26, 2025:

“Members of Hindu organisations performed purification rituals at the Shiv Mandir in Dadri village, Daurala, after it was discovered that a Muslim man had been fraudulently living there by posing as a Hindu pujari.

The mandir was cleansed using Gangajal, the Jalabhishek of the Shivling was performed, and Hanuman Chalisa was recited, marking what the locals termed as re-sanctification of the desecrated premises. The man, identified as Qasim, a resident of Sitamarhi in Bihar, had been living in the temple for over six months, masquerading as a Hindu pujari named ‘Krishna’.

Clad in saffron robes, Qasim engaged in traditional activities like reading palms and advising devotees, effectively winning their trust. He falsely claimed to be from Delhi to avoid suspicion……”

  1. Unlike In Shraman religion like Jain dharm, Hindus need a middleman for their spiritual communications. An impersonating Mohammadan won’t be able to fake Jain scriptures and practices.

In popular Hindu tradition, a  pujari/panda is needed for lay bhakts to mediate with god, control rituals, know and recite scriptures where it is needed. All that generally a Hindu does is to plead for some favor from a particular deity represented in the temple. As part of religious activity, a priest can be a soothsayer, fortune-teller, astrologer, numerology expert with zero religious depth of knowledge in most of the Hindu temples. In fact, you can even make things up like talk about One God, cryptically epouse Mohammadan indoctrination, and bad mouth Hindu traditions. That is the reason why in many places, I keep hearing news of how impersonating Muslims, Christian’s and anti-Hindu Hindu sounding frauds are controlling Hindu temple functions. And Hindu devotees act like zombies. A Hindu can get impassioned on sc one caste politics or discrimination, but to arouse his passion for Hinduism as a dharm? He/She is utterly passive. This can be observed most of the time.

Now a mullah, needs not only knowledge of accurate rituals of daily prayers, occassion specific recitals, but also need quite a good amount of basic scriptural knowledge (devout sounding, but espousing either implied or more direct hate for non-Mohammadans).

Sachin Sirohi, a local member of a Hindu organisation, said, “This appears to be a calculated attempt to hurt Hindu sentiments. ……” That’s it?

This is the misfortune of Hindus – using lazy and generic phrases like “hurt Hindu sentiments”. Part of this outpouring of uninspiring banality by Hindu activists is due to people’s limitations in capabilities in linguistic expressions, but most of it is due to extremely poor and vague, story driven religious education, in my view.

    • Namaste Mahoday,
I’m sorry to say I have noticed that you never have anything good to say about Hindu Samaj and keep constantly slandering Hindu Samaj, rituals and activists by nitpicking on smallest of the things like the terms used etc. Jainism may not have pujaris but just because Hindu Dharma does, that doesn’t make Hindu Dharma bad & Jainism superior. There are many Jains who are falling prey to Islamic conversion mafia. Instead of finding a common cause with Hindu Samaj, please don’t repeatedly slander our efforts by nitpicking & repeatedly trying to put Hindus down. We are doing our best to save Dharma despite being surrounded by hostile forces such as Abrahamic conversion mafia, anti-Hindu state, Hindudveshi neo-Ambedkarism, Urban Naxalism, etc.

      • I find it unfortunate that you not only consider my comments as a “slander” (strong word indeed) against ‘Hindu’ Samaj (here Hindu usage probably excludes Shramanic religions), but you also think my criticism of responses and terms used by ‘Hindus’ as “nitpicking on smallest of the things”. But, let me be clear in current context – radical Mohammadans, Christians presiding as authorities, even hijacking Hindu temple rituals where Hindu devotees are meekly participating like zombies can never be termed as just “hurting the Hindu feelings/sentiments”. This is an extreme trivialization of Hindu victimization.

Comparing practices of various Hindu dharms with regards to their susceptibilities to scheming predators, should not be considered as one Hindu dharm being superior or inferior to another Hindu dharm in sum. I do not have ready references, but my life experience is that virtually 100 percent of Jains marrying Mohammadans results in either a Jain person himself/herself converting or surrendering to Mohammadanism, and if not officially, then their offsprings are Mohammadans. So Jain people and ‘Hindu’ people are both “inferior”! – to use your sense of expression. Yes, I do consider the common Hindu practice of relying on Priests/Pandas for unintelligible Sanskrit incantations and accompanied rituals and administration by them as harmful to faithfuls, but it does not make Jainism “superior” and Hinduism “inferior”. Our various darshans (including Shad darshans, vaious Shraman darshans) are a result of deep reflections and they are without resorting to terror and bigotry of my-way-is-the-only-way syndrome afflicting the Mohammadan and Christian theologies. They should not be used to deign one system as inferior (and therefore worthy of destruction) or superior (and therefore worthy of “ruling” others). Their various components are basically based on logical discussions and inferences arrived without resorting to murderous intolerance and andh-bhakti – the later is the only way in Mohammadan discourses and a major element in missionary anti-Christ Christian discourses. Hindu darshans and dharms (a dharm as what holds an entity as a unit with their mind, body, speech and action), and science contributions are astonishing from civilization point of view and we all must make effort to prevail them and make new contributions. And at the same time address illogical and destructive, purely faith or unproven claims based beliefs.

So please, do not take my criticism as some kind of blasphemous behavior against ‘Hindu’ Samaj. But if you do, let me know and I will refrain from commenting.

Hope, I have made my stance clear here.
