Urvi Vaishnav appears to be the latest victim of live-in gone wrong if the allegations by her family members are to be believed. The 27-year-old was found dead in Navi Mumbai and her family has accused her live-in partner Riyaz Khan of killing her. This news comes after recently the murder of Shraddha Walkar by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla came to light.
An India Today report on the issue says:
The body of a 27-year-old woman was found in Navi Mumbai on Saturday, four days after she was reported missing from her home in the Kopar Kheran area.
The deceased, identified as Urvi Vaishnav, was a resident of Bundi, Rajasthan and used to work as a waiter in a hotel for the last 6 to 7 years.
The family of the deceased has accused the woman’s live-in-partner of killing her. The family said that Urvi had come in contact with a man named Riyaz Khan about 7 months ago and they had been living together. Urvi’s two brothers also used to live nearby.
It was on December 13 that Riyaz dropped Urvi at the hotel and she never returned. Her brothers tried to reach her but her phone was switched off. Following this, her family members filed a missing complaint at Nerul police station.
On December 17, Urvi’s body was found lying near a canal. The body was sent for post-mortem at Nana Sahib hospital and later handed over to her family.
Urvi’s family has accused her live-in partner Riyaz of killing her, saying that he too was missing for two days after the incident. He strangled her to death and later dumped the body, the family said. The family demanded justice, asking the police to arrest the accused.
The rate at which such crimes are being reported in which Hindu girls are being trapped, victimized, and murdered by Islamists is alarming, to say the least.
