Puranpur Shocker : Brother-in-law raped a Muslim woman on the pretext of Nikah

A shocking incident came into the fore in Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh. After the death of the husband, the brother-in-law made physical relations with the widowed sister-in-law on the pretext of Nikah. He also took away cash and jewelry worth lakhs from the woman, and turned hostile when she asked him to have a Nikah with her.

The Muslim woman living in the maternal home has made a formal complaint at the police station along with her family members. The police has initiated the investigation in this matter. The said Muslim woman living in a village of Khutar police station area, and she was married 5 years ago with a Muslim youth from the village of Sehramau police station area.

The woman has three children, two sons and one daughter. Her husband has died two years back, past that her in-laws started harassing her physically and mentally. Her brother-in-law lured her into a relationship by pretending to have Nikah with her, he made physical relations with her many-a-times.

The victim alleged that her brother-in-law took away her gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 3 lakh. The accused turned hostile on the matter of Nikah and then she was thrashed and thrown out by her in-laws. On Sunday, the woman along with her relatives reached the police station and complained, past that police has started the investigation. As per the local Police sources, the culprits will be arrested very soon.
