Pune: Ilahi Sheikh occupies Hindu land for 10 years, attacks Hindus for attempting to reclaim land legally

This incident from Dhanori, Pune, recently gained attention on social media. It concerns an alleged illegal occupation of private land and the violent clashes that followed court-ordered repossession.

The Land Dispute:

Ilahi Sheikh allegedly had occupied a Hindu-owned land parcel in Dhanori, Pune, for 10 years.

The Repossession Clashes:

Following a court order permitting the Hindu owner to take back possession, violence erupted when the Hindu family attempted to reclaim the land. It is alleged that Sheikh, supported by a mob of women, attacked the Hindu family.

Specific Allegations:

Reports from local civic groups and social media accounts allege that during the repossession drive, a Hanuman murti in nearby Hindu temple was desecrated, pepper spray was used, and the family was forced to flee their property by the local Islamists.

Official Complaints:

Following the incident, local and nationalist Hindu organization groups, such as the Sakal Hindu Samaj, amplified the family’s cause. They officially raised concerns on social media channels, tagging the @PuneCityPolice and state authorities, demanding immediate and strict legal action in X (erstwhile Twitter).

Official updates are awaited from the police regarding the matter.
