In Banbhulpura, Haldwani, people from the Muslim community barged into the house of a Hindu family and beat up women and men. The accused did not even spare the pregnant woman, kicked her in the stomach, and tore her clothes. The police have named four including the main accused Imran and filed an FIR against 10-12 people in the section of insurrection, molestation, assault, and threats.
According to Banbhulpura police, Rajendra Maurya’s family lives in the Gaujajali area. A few days back, the municipal corporation had made a drain in the street, but due to some construction fault it was not functioning properly, and it created a mess in front of Rajendra’s house. He broke the drain on Monday. On Monday night, there was a tussle between Rajendra and neighbor Imran regarding this matter. After this, an angry Imran went home and brought 10-12 people along.
The accused had iron rods, sticks and bricks and stones in their hands. The Muslim mob forcibly entered Rajendra’s house and started beating all the people present there. After kicking the pregnant woman’s stomach, she was also attacked with a sharp weapon on her head. When the ruckus increased, the people around informed the Banbhulpura police.
When Police Station President Neeraj Bhakuni arrived with the team, the accused fled from the scene. The police officer said that a case has been registered against the accused and several others. The accused are being identified with the help of CCTV and video footage, and no accused will be spared.
Screaming women were asking for help
The video of the beating is being circulated on the social media. The video is being made by a woman who is screaming and pleading with people to help the victim’s family, but everyone is shying away from going in front of the bullies.
Four accused detained
People remained in panic due to the incident that happened on Monday night. According to police sources, four accused have been taken into custody, soon the rest of the accused will be caught.
Outrage in BJYM, demand for action arose
There is resentment among BJP people due to the incident. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha State Vice President Neeraj Bisht and co-media in-charge Gaurav Joshi have condemned the incident. He has demanded the police to arrest the accused and take strict action. He termed it as an injustice to the Hindus, which must not be tolerated at any cost.
On Tuesday late evening, people of Hinduist organizations wearing saffron clothes reached the house of the victim’s family and started preparing for Hanuman Chalisa recitation. Meanwhile, police station chief Neeraj Bhakuni handled the situation and pleaded them to return to their homes.
