Muslim brothers arrested for throwing petrol bomb at their own house to implicate Hindu neighbour: TN

Tamil Nadu police arrested 2 Muslim brothers who threw Molotov cocktails, aka petrol bombs, at their own house to implicate their Hindu neighbor. They wanted the neighbor to vacate his house, which he refused to comply with. They came up with a plan to implicate him in a crime and staged it by throwing kerosene-filled bottles at their own house.

Sultan and Abdul Samad, sons of Alauddin (70), run a textile shop in Kumbakonam, TN. They reside at Thukkachi Temple Street near the Abathsahayeswarar temple in the village. They claimed that on September 6, around 1:30 am, they heard an explosion near their house and that they saw fire at a vacant spot in front of their house when they went out to check.

Allauddin went to the police and lodged a complaint that someone threw Molotov cocktails at his house and showed two liquor bottles as evidence. Police initiated the investigation, which led them to burnt newspapers used in the Molotov cocktails. They also found a kerosene can and some newspapers hidden among bushes at the back of Allauddin’s house. On comparing both, cops found that both newspapers were from the same publication and had the same dates.

Getting suspicious, they brought Sultan and Abdul Samad to the police station and intensified the investigation. The brothers revealed their scheme to get rid of their neighbors, Bagyaraj and Rajiv Gandhi. The latter built a house in the plot opposite the Muslim brothers’ house and have been residing there for the past 30 years. The brothers asked the neighbors to vacate the house, and the issue has been long-standing. After failing to get the Hindu neighbors to vacate the house, the Muslim brothers plotted to implicate them in a crime to get rid of them.

They made Molotov cocktails using liquor bottles, kerosene, and old newspapers and threw them at their own house to make it look like it was done by the Hindu neighbors. Following this revelation, the brothers were arrested and lodged in prison.

Apart from the usual criminal passion of Muslims in targeting Hindus, another important detail has to be noted in this incident. The arrested Muslim brothers’ house is located on Sannathi Street, the street around Sri Abathsahayeswarar temple in Thukkachi. The temple, built by Rajendra Chola I in the 11th century and later expanded by his descendant Vikrama Chola, is nearly a millennium old. As per information available on the internet, the temple originally had seven praharams which gradually dilapidated, and only two praharams remain now. The temple was in ruins till a few years ago, and consecration was conducted after renovation a few weeks ago.

Why could the temple have been in such a pitious condition despite its historical importance? One of the main reasons is that Brahmins living in agraharams around temples in the Thanjavur Delta region were driven out by rabid Dravidianists. Supreme Court advocate J Sai Deepak had recently mentioned this in a podcast in ANI. Brahmins who dared to remain and take care of the temple were driven out by Islamists who started occupying agraharams. This article details how agraharams in most villages are occupied by Muslims, with temples either lying in neglect or demolished.
