A video from Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh is going viral. In this, some people are seen beating a person, who is said to be Mufti Sajid Hussain who works as an exorcist. He is accused of molesting women on this pretext. Police registered a case in this matter on Thursday (14 December 2023).
As per the media, the victims told them that the accused Mufti Sajid Hussain has molested multiple women. He used to carry out his nefarious activities under the pretext of exorcism. When people came to know about this, they beat up the Mufti.
The matter is of Pakbada police station area of Moradabad district. A person named Ishrat, living here, lodged a complaint against Mufti Sajid at Pakbada police station on 14 December. In the complaint, Ishrat said that Sajid Hussain, who lives near Chand Masjid in Moradabad, works as an exorcist. He commands a good hold in the local Muslim majority locality.
It has been said in the complaint that even on Thursday morning, Mufti Sajid was creating ruckus in the locality. When the complainant tried to stop him, Mufti threatened to kill him. Stating that the people of the locality are scared of him, Ishrat is fearing for his life and he demanded a strict action against Mufti from the police.
After receiving the complaint, the police registered a case against Mufti under sections 504 and 506 of the IPC. Police say that necessary legal action is being taken in the matter.
According to Ishrat, Mufti Sajid has opened an exorcism center in his own house and many women come to him twice a week. Complainant Ishrat told that a youth from Dalit (SC) community had beaten Mufti Sajid because of his dirty activities. Mufti used to threaten people of burning them with his Islamic power and he used to molest innocent women in the name of his religion.
