70 Thousand Rupees stolen from ancient Hanuman Temple’s donation box

A theft occurred at the ancient Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple in Haryana’s Rewari. The thief spent about 3 hours inside the mandir, stealing around 70 thousand rupees from the donation box near different Bhagwan’s murti. Shockingly, he even counted the stolen money after the theft. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

When the priest and worshipers arrived at the mandir on Tuesday morning (2 January), they discovered the donation boxes were broken and the mandir’s glass window shattered. Upon checking the CCTV footage, the thief was seen entering the temple around 9.30 pm and staying inside for over 3 hours. Pujari Pawan Vats explained that he had closed the temple doors as usual on Monday night and gone home. However, a thief sneaked in from behind, breaking locks and uprooting donation boxes of Hanuman Ji, Devi Maa, and Shiva Ji.

The thief stole around 70 thousand rupees from the three donation boxes and left the temple around 1 am on Tuesday. The incident was reported to the Gokal Gate outpost police, who arrived, assessed the situation, and filed a theft FIR. The police are now searching for the thief based on the CCTV footage.
