Imran Farokhi beaten up for molesting a girl in a moving bus, Farokhi taken into custody & 18 others booked for ‘assault’: Maharashtra

The public beat up a person named Imran Wasimuddin Farokhi at the bus stop in Selu town located in Maharashtra’s Parbhani District. He reportedly sexually harassed a girl on the bus and was caught by the angry public who learned of the incident. Selu police took the molester into custody but there is no confirmation of his arrest or a case being registered against him in the matter.

Bus number MH 20 BL 3505 was headed to Pathri from Selu in which two girls were travelling. Pathri resident 34-year-old Farokhi was also on the bus. He reportedly molested one of the two girls giving rise to commotion inside the bus. Following the ruckus, bus driver Raut and conductor Vishnu Kumbakarn contacted Bus Regulator Vasant Borade and apprised him of the situation.

Borade instructed them to bring the bus back to the depot and the duo obliged. As soon as the bus entered the depot and Farokhi got down from the bus, the public who learned of the incident caught hold of him and thrashed him. He was kicked and boxed and some even thrashed him with a belt.

Conductor Vishnu Kumbakarn, Bharat Rajebhau Shinde, Santosh Sopanrao Gaikwad, and 10-15 others are said to be among those who beat up Farokhi. Selu police rushed to the bus depot upon learning of the ruckus. They whisked away Farokhi to prevent any untoward incident.

Furthermore, a case was registered against 18 persons involved in the ‘assault’ on Wednesday (April 5). Three persons have been arrested. Lokmat quoted Selu police official Ajay Veer Swamy Raskatala as saying that the girl has not lodged any complaint in the case. The case is being investigated by Sunil Andhare. SP Yashwant Kale, DIG Pandurang Gopane, and Police Inspector Raosaheb Godwad visited the spot to review the situation.
