A case of Love Jihad was reported from Deesa town in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. The police arrested the accused bus driver, Imran Qasam Hussain Dhori, who hails from Vadodara. It was reported that the accused raped the victim several times, including on a running bus, by blackmailing and threatening the victim. The whole incident came to light when the victim got tired of Dhori’s torture and tried to commit suicide. The police have registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
Imran Dhori traps a married Hindu woman
According to available details, the victim from Deesa town is married to a young man living in a city in South Gujarat. She is a student of fine arts. Around 6 months ago she went on a trip to North Bharat along with her husband. On this trip, while she was showing her paintings to fellow passengers, she was introduced to the bus driver Imran as he was praising her painting. So the girl gave her Instagram ID to the bus driver.
Subsequently, Dhori got her mobile number by praising her paintings through Instagram. Soon she was trapped by the driver in a love affair. They started interacting and meeting in private. One day when she was travelling from Navsari to Deesa in the bus, Dhori stopped the bus near Vadodara, sat with her in the passenger coach in the running bus and had forced sex with her. Later while returning to Navsari, Dhori forced her to go along with him in a car, sindoor or on her forehead and forcibly raped her, saying she was his wife.
Later Dhori started blackmailing the woman to have physical intercourse with the private photos/video he had recorded during their previous interactions. The woman got fed up with this constant blackmail and physical abuse and attempted to swallow poison and commit suicide at her father’s house. Presently, the girl has been admitted to a private hospital in Deesa for treatment. On the basis of the victim’s complaint, Deesa police have registered a case against Dhori and are taking further legal action against him.
Police receive information about other Hindu girls being tricked by Dhori- the victim’s lawyer
According to the victim’s lawyer, Dharmendra Fofani, the police have found information about some other Hindu girls as well who were victimized by Dhori. He further said, “According to the victim, Imran had abused her to the extent that she was believing all his words. He would reach her husband’s office, send his photos to the victim, and say if you don’t talk, I will kill your husband. A deeper investigation of the accused may lead to more shocking revelations.” He further said, “This is a clear-cut case of love jihad and I will ensure that justice is brought to every girl who has been a victim of love jihad.” According to the police inspector, Amit Desai, the team is investigating if he had trapped more Hindu girls.
