Hindus attacked by Islamists for protesting against Mohd Haidar & 3 others smoking cigarettes outside their house: Pilibhit

Legal proceedings have begun in the case of individuals of the Hindu community being beaten and stoned in Mohalla Beni Chaudhary for protesting against cigarette smoking. The police have filed a cross-report against both parties and are monitoring the crime scene for a second day. The perpetrators were identified as Ishab, Salman, and Mohammad Junaid from the Muslim community using video footage.

The incident occurred when Ishab, a Mohalla Mohammad Farooq Sadar Kotwali area resident, went to Dinesh Kumar’s house in Mohalla Beni Chaudhary to smoke a cigarette. When some Hindus expressed their displeasure, a stone-pelting ensued, injuring several Hindus, including Ganesh, Vishal, Kullu, Shivam, Himanshu, and Nitin from Mohalla Beni Chaudhary.

The police, led by CO City, reached the scene and dispersed the crowd upon receiving information. However, in the evening, there was a confrontation between women from both communities at the Kotwali gate. In response, a report was lodged against Vishal, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Achal, and Deepu by Sayra, the wife of Haidar from Mohalla Mohammad Farooq, citing assault. The police have issued challans to four people who were taken into custody from both sides. CO City Deepak Chaturvedi stated that the case is under investigation after hearing arguments from both sides.
