Hindu woman falls victim to Islamist deception and violence: Basti, UP

In yet another shocking case, a Hindu woman, Lakshmi Devi (26), lost her life under suspicious circumstances in Sugiya village, Rudhauli police station area. Lakshmi, who was pregnant with her third child, was found dead last Friday. Her husband, Mohammed Islam, hurriedly buried her without informing her family, raising grave suspicions. On Thursday, authorities exhumed her body for a postmortem following police intervention. As per Hindustan, the report confirmed death by hanging, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her demise.

A case of deception and betrayal

Lakshmi’s ordeal began eight years ago when she was abducted by Mohammad Islam as a minor. Despite opposition from the villagers, Islam forcibly kept her, leading her father to file a complaint. The police had arrested Islam at the time, and Lakshmi was reunited with her family. However, after his release from jail, Islam lured Lakshmi back, cutting her off from her loved ones. Isolated and trapped, she suffered years of relentless abuse and coercion.

A life of torture ends in tragedy

Lakshmi, who had already given birth to a four-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter, endured unspeakable torment. Reports indicate that Islam frequently subjected her to physical and mental abuse, coercing her into situations too horrific to detail. The unbearable suffering eventually drove her to take her own life.

Instead of informing the authorities or her family, Islam buried Lakshmi in secrecy, attempting to erase all evidence. However, suspicions arose among villagers, prompting police action. Rudhauli police station in-charge sought permission from higher authorities, leading to the exhumation of the body under the supervision of Tehsildar Bhanpur and Inspector Vijay Kumar Dubey. As per Hindustan, the post-mortem confirmed that Lakshmi had died by hanging. Consequently, a case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Islam.

A pattern of exploitation and forced conversions

This tragic case is not an isolated incident but part of a larger pattern of exploitation where Hindu women are targeted under the guise of love. Across Uttar Pradesh and Bharat, numerous cases have emerged where women have been deceived, coerced, and subjected to violence in relationships that often involve forced religious conversion. In 2021, the Bareilly Murder Case shocked the nation when a Hindu woman, Nisha Devi, was brutally murdered by her Muslim husband after she resisted conversion. Similarly, in 2024, a man named Chand was arrested in Uttar Pradesh for assaulting a Hindu girl and forcing her into Islam after deceitfully luring her into a relationship. These incidents reflect a disturbing trend where Hindu women are systematically targeted, manipulated, and subjected to brutal violence.

Lakshmi’s tragic death underscores the urgent need for stringent laws and societal vigilance to protect Hindu women from such deceptive and abusive relationships. The authorities must ensure that strict action is taken against Islam and that justice is served.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the growing threat posed by Love Jihad, where young Hindu women are systematically targeted, manipulated, and subjected to violence. Hindu families and society at large must remain vigilant, educate young women, and demand stronger legal safeguards to prevent such heart-wrenching tragedies in the future.
