A shocking case of sexual assault and blackmail has surfaced from the Lalbarra police station area in Balaghat district, where a 15-year-old Hindu girl was allegedly gang-raped by four Islamist youths, including two minors. As per Jagran, the incident took place after the accused reportedly recorded an obscene video of the survivor and used it to threaten and extort money from her. The police have registered a case and detained three accused, while one remains absconding.
According to Lalbarra Police, the girl had gone to a fair on October 26 with a friend when the accused Islamists, identified as Danish and Ayyub Qureshi, along with two minor associates, allegedly filmed an objectionable video of them without consent. The accused then demanded ₹10,000 to delete the video. When the victim’s friend went to arrange money, the 15-year-old was gang-raped. The extortion demand was later raised to ₹40,000, with threats to make the video viral.
The survivor informed her family, following which an FIR was registered on November 1. Both adult accused have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The two minors have been detained. Police have seized mobile phones and are analyzing digital evidence, officials confirmed.
However, the family and Hindu community members alleged that the police did not immediately act on the complaint. On November 2, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the victim’s community reached the police station and submitted a memorandum demanding swift arrests and strict legal action.
Following the public demand, police detained Danish, the son of Salim Khan, along with two minors. The fourth accused, identified as Ayyub Khan, is currently absconding. Police officials stated that Ayyub is a habitual offender, with eight previous criminal cases recorded against him in different police stations. Authorities have assured that he will be arrested soon and that mobile phones and digital evidence are being examined.
SDOP Abhishek Chaudhary said that the case has been registered under the POCSO Act, relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the IT Act.
Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and community members of the victim’s group reached the police station on Monday and demanded strict action against the accused. They met SDOP Abhishek Chaudhary and the Station House Officer and submitted a memorandum, seeking the immediate arrest of the absconding accused.
Police officials assured that action would be taken as per the law and that the fourth accused would be arrested soon.
According to police, a case has been registered, and three accused, including one adult and two minors, have been taken into custody. The fourth accused is absconding, and efforts are underway to locate him.“The FIR has been registered. One adult and two minors are in custody. The remaining accused will also be arrested soon.” SDOP Abhishek Chaudhary said,
The Balaghat incident follows earlier cases where minor Hindu girls were targeted through deception, pressure, or blackmail, including the case of a Hindu Scheduled Caste girl in Khandwa, where the accused, Firdaus Khan, was arrested for alleged rape and forced conversion attempts. This case has once again raised serious concerns about the increasing pattern of blackmail, coercion, and exploitation of Hindu minor girls being reported from various districts in Madhya Pradesh and neighboring states. Despite strict laws such as the POCSO Act and provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, incidents involving intimidation through videos, forced relationships, and threats of defamation continue to be perpetrated by radical Islamists.
