“Biggest drug haul in Assam: STF seizes record 21 kilogrammes of heroin worth Rs 210 Crores”, Organiser, April 4, 2024:

“In a groundbreaking operation, the Special Task Force (STF) in Assam has achieved huge success by seizing a staggering 21 kilogrammes of heroin in the Cachar district of Southern Assam. The estimated market value of the seized contraband stands at a whopping Rs 210 crore.

The operation, which took place near Sahidpur under the jurisdiction of Silchar Police Station, saw a joint effort between the Cachar police and the STF. Acting on intelligence inputs, a Breeza vehicle originating from Aizawl was intercepted by the vigilant team.

Upon thorough inspection, the STF and police personnel discovered the illicit drugs cleverly concealed in the vehicle’s trunk, hidden beneath layers of bread and biscuits. The meticulous operation led to the apprehension of one individual, identified as Laldinuwa from Mizoram…..”
