Unable to stop Islamist rioters, West Bengal police arrest Hindu girl for Facebook post

The West Bengal police have arrested a young Hindu Bengali girl in the midst of Islamist violence engulfing the state. The shocking developments are reported from the Beldanga Police Station area of the Berhampore subdivision of West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. The incident occurred on Friday, June 10, when unruly mobs of Islamists descended over several areas of Kolkata and Howrah.

Seeing the mob violence that included vandalism and arson attacks, a young Hindu girl took to Facebook to post her opinion. In her post, she wrote in Bengali, and we translate, “Instead of creating such riots, why don’t they just leave.” Islamists saw this post in the area and came together, demanding strict actions against the girl.

Almost immediately as the post went viral in the Islamists’ inner circles, they formed a hundreds-strong mob and gathered at the police station, forcing the police to arrest the Hindu girl. Social media users claim that the Islamist mob had attacked the police station, while local news sites report that they had pelted stones at the station and at officials. The West Bengal police, known for their helplessness when confronted by Islamists, yielded to their demands and put the girl behind bars. Police officials, including senior officials, have also refrained from commenting on this issue. However, it has been reported that the arrest of the Hindu youth has led to discontentment in the area.

It is worth highlighting here that when the jihadist mobs had halted the national highway for hours, resorted to violence, and burned down public property, the police of the state were standing as mute spectators. A viral picture shows police officials standing with their hands on their waists as Islamists engaged in full-fledged violence. When the police forces of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand fought the Jihadists bravely, the Kolkata police exposed their inefficiency and submission to the murderous mobs.

Until now, there is no news about the girl getting legal aid. Though her age has not been confirmed, she looks like a youth in her late teens or early twenties. The arrest of this defenseless Hindu girl is very telling of the incompetence of the West Bengal police that took no action against the jihadists.

There has been no news of West Bengal police arresting any member of Islamist mobs. But, kneeling to the demands of an unruly crowd that allegedly pelted stones at them, they caught a harmless girl for the “crime” of expressing her views on social media. This is the abyss the state and its machinery have plummeted to while pandering to Islamist rowdiness in West Bengal.

  1. How funny! If you protest against Islamist violence in social media, you’ll face arrest!
Whereas the Islamist mob perpetrating the violence, destruction and arson are left Scott free.

  2. WHEN PEOPLE ELECT LEADERS THEY DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT LEADERS MEDIA IS NOT GOOD TO EXPOSE THEM DUE TO FUNDING FROM THEM . A NEUTRAL MEDIA NEEDED TO EXPOSE BIO DATA OF THE LEADERS ASKING FOR VOTES ,
