On the 18th of January, Wednesday, the Assam Police recovered a massive amount of explosives. The explosives included 1,800 detonators and more than 2,300 pieces of gelatin sticks from a vehicle in Assam’s Goalpara district.
According to the sources, based on secret information, a special team of Goalpara district Police launched an operation and intercepted a private vehicle in the Dhupdhara area of the district. Later, upon searching, the Police officials found a massive amount of explosives in the car.
The Police officials said that the operation was in the evening. Seeing the Police vehicles approaching, the persons in the car left the car on the roadside and managed to flee.
From the car, the Police officials recovered detonators, gelatin sticks, wire bundles and batteries.
Rakesh Reddy, SP of Goalpara district, said, “During the search, we recovered a huge amount of explosives. The vehicle was coming from the Guwahati side towards the Mankachar area. Our investigation is on.”
