A youth sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in a moving car on Mohana Bypass in Madhya Pradesh’s (MP) Gwalior. His friend continued to record the video from his mobile while sitting close to the driver’s seat. The third accused kept operating the vehicle.
They continued filming brutality in the car for approximately an hour. The girl was threatened that the video would be posted on Social Media and sent to her relatives if she spoke to anyone. Four days later, the accused called her to meet them again. However, when she declined, they made the video viral. Mohana police station has registered a case against the three accused, who are residents of Chinaur.
According to available, a 14-year-old ninth-class girl living in the Mohana area befriended a young man from Chinaur on Instagram a year ago. She was also forced to speak with the young man’s friend. She then began conversing with him as well.
In June, he reached Mohana in a Ford Figo car with his friends. He called her to meet him. She came at his request, but when she was asked to go for a ride in the car, she refused. He convinced the girl to believe him, and she sat in the back of the vehicle.
The third youth was driving the car. When the car moved further, the young man sitting behind started behaving indecently with the girl. He gagged her mouth when she protested and tried to make a noise. He pushed her into the car seat and raped her.
The young man sitting in the driving seat kept making videos on his mobile. The girl was severely beaten inside the car. After that, she was pushed out of the car with the threat of making the video viral if she revealed the incident to anyone.
The victim did not say anything to anyone out of fear. Taking advantage of her fear, the accused began calling her again. When she refused, the video was uploaded on her mobile. When she still did not go to meet them, the accused sent the video to her friends and relatives on Instagram Messenger and Facebook Messenger. When the video reached her relatives, she cried and revealed the entire sequence of events. The relatives reached the police station and lodged an FIR.
The student fell into depression after this incident. She became depressed to the point of committing suicide. She was not going to school for some days. She started remaining silent at home and deleted her Instagram ID. When the mobile number of the accused was blocked, they started sending messages and calls from another number and forcing the girl to meet. The police have registered an FIR, and further investigation is underway.
