In yet another case of love jihad /grooming jihad, reported in recent times, a case of abduction and rape of a married Hindu woman has come to light in the Azad Nagar police station area in Madhya Pradesh’s (MP) Indore. On the basis of the complaint of the woman, the police have registered a case against the accused.
According to news reports, the police have registered a case against Moin Sheikh, a resident of Kohinoor Colony, under the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, on the woman’s complaint.
The Woman was pressurized to convert to Islam
It is said that the victim lived separately from her husband with her daughters. Moin befriended her and raped her on the pretext of marriage. After this, the accused threatened to kill the woman’s daughters and said that she would have to convert and become a Muslim.
Local Hindu organizations learned of this incident and contacted the victim. With their help, the woman reached the police station on Saturday night (May 11) and filed a complaint against the accused.
According to reports in social media, X, the woman was held hostage by the accused and repeatedly raped for several days. The rise in such cases of love jihad and forced sexual assault is of serious concern. It is to be noted that this is not a one-off incident, but there have been a series of such instances in different parts of Bharat. Unless serious and well-thought-out action is initiated by the Hindu society and Hindu thought leaders to tackle this issue, it can have serious repercussions on women’s safety and the safety of the Hindu family system in the future.
