Another shocking case of love jihad was revealed in Indore, Madhya Pradesh this past week. According to the reports, the incident was unveiled when a woman, who has been living apart from her husband for 10 years. She was approached by Farman Sheikh, an Islamist who posed as Ashish with a Hindu name back in 2019. A year later, Ashish expressed his affection for her and expressed a desire to marry her.
Following this revelation, he visited her apartment, and they engaged in intimate relations. Subsequently, it was revealed that the individual known as Ashish was actually a Muslim named Farman, who was married. He continued the misconduct for years, assuring her of marriage. When the woman mentioned marriage, he laid down conditions: she would have to convert to Islam, wear a burqa, and also pray.
The woman, a resident of Aalok Nagar, approached the Kanadia police station on Saturday (Feb 3) night with Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad officials and filed an FIR against Farman Sheikh. The woman was working for a matrimonial website.
Must convert to Islam to marry
After some time, it was revealed that the youth named Aashish was an Islamist, and his real name was Farman Sheikh. He was already married. When reminded of his promise to marry, he began pressuring her to convert to Islam. After this, the victim contacted a Hindu organisation and narrated the entire sequence of events.
The victim said that on February 2, Farman’s father, Mubeen and sister, Zeeba threatened her by calling her to AB Road for a conversation. When she called 100, they forcibly took away her phone. Farman then entered the apartment, brandishing a knife in front of the mother, and insisted that he would marry her. He mentioned that Muslims are allowed to have two or three wives and pressured her to convert to Islam.
In recent times, Indore has emerged as a hotspot for Islamic love jihad activities, evident by this yet another case reported in 2024.
