28th September was observed as Barawafat procession on the birthday of Islamic Prophet Mohammad, and we have received multiple reports of violence from various parts of the country. Once such incident has been reported from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, where mob pelted stone on a religious procession. A case of insult to the tricolor has come to light in Sultanpur. Whereas, a video from Badaun is viral, where the crowd is seen raising slogans of ‘Sar tan se juda‘.
If we talk about the Kushinagar incident, a procession of Baravafat was left from Nauka Tola of Naveen Sabzi Mandi. A minor could be seen with a placard in his hand on a trolley, on which it was written – “Remembered 15 minutes?”.
On the same trolley, the audio of the hate speech of Hyderabad’s controversial Muslim leader Akbaruddin Owaisi was also playing, where he was threatening to remove police for 15 minutes so that Muslims could eliminate Hindus.
When the procession reached Gola Bazar, the few Hindu youth objected to Owaisi’s audio, after which the Muslim mob involved in the procession pelted stones near the Ram Janaki temple. The video of this entire incident went viral, after which tension spread in the entire area. The administration has deployed heavy police force and PAC to control the situation.
As per the Police, Muskaan and Ritesh of Ram Janaki Nagar were injured in stone pelting. In this case, the police have registered a case against 37 known and some unknown stone pelters and arrested 6 accused till now.
