Shravan month is going on when Bhagwan Shiva’s devotees observed an annual and auspicious pilgrimage Kanwar Yatra. However, in the last couple of years, Kanwar Yatra has become a subject of repeated attacks from the media, liberal-secular cabal, and radical Islamists.
One such incident occurred in Vikas Nagar, Uttarakhand. A case has been registered against an unknown mob for pelting stones at Kavariyas in Rampur under Sahaspur police station. Police are identifying those who pelted stones through video. Due to the deployment of the police force at many places in the police station area, peace is maintained.
As per SP Dehat Kamlesh Upadhyay, CO BL Shah is taking necessary information from the station in charge at Sahaspur police station. Police and PACs of many police stations are still in Sahaspur police station to maintain the peace in the area.
Police have confirmed that a Kanwar yatra was coming towards Sahaspur by filling water from Harki Pauri. When the Kanwariyas reached Rampur, they saw that there was already a large crowd standing there.
Some people started hurling community-specific abuses and demeaning their gods. Hearing this, the kanwariyas started leaving from there quickly, then suddenly one of the kanwariya was hit by a stone from behind. The injured Kanwariya said to leave the area immediately. All of a sudden the locals started pelting stones on the Kanwariyas. Many stones were also put on the idol of Lord Bholenath included in Dak Kanwar. Due to this, the idol was badly and many kanwariyas got severely injured.
The kanwariyas stated that the stone pelting on the kanwariyas was done to kill them, if the kanwariyas had not been vigilant, many kanwariyas could have lost their lives. On the other hand, according to SSI Pramod Kumar of Sahaspur police station, at around 10:30 pm on Friday, there was information about a dispute and stone pelting at the kanwariyas by the people of the particular community.
The local police force immediately reached the spot to settle the dispute. The district-in-charge of Hindu Rashtriya Shakti, Dehradoon, Sunil Rathore has filed a formal complaint. Upon which the police station Sahaspur has registered a case against the unknown mob under relevant sections. Police have been identifying the miscreants through video, and adequate legal action will be taken against the guilty.
