West Bengal: BJP worker beaten to death by Civic Volunteer in Uttar Dinajpur

Now, reports have surfaced that a BJP worker has allegedly been beaten to death by a civic volunteer in Uttar Dinajpur. 

The deceased has been identified as Prasenjit Barman(25). Prasenjit was resident of Santora village under Choinagar Gram Panchayat area of Hemtabad of Uttar Dinajpur district. 

As per sources, yesterday Prasenjit Barman was returning from polling station at Santora Primary School. Civic volunteer Sadeq Alam of Hemtabad police station was in duty at the same polling station. Sadeq allegedly beaten Prasenjit so badly that Prasenjit lost his senses. Locals somehow caught Sadeq and recovered him. Prasenjit was rushed to Hemtabad Gramin Hospital and on-duty Doctor declared him brought dead. 

Prasenjit’s wife said, “My husband was BJP supporter. He was beaten to death because he voted for BJP candidate.”

Meanwhile, fear and grief prevailed in the whole village. Prasenjit was a brilliant student. He was studying Msc in Nursing in Bengaluru. He returned to village few days ago to cast his vote in the Panchayat election.
