Xi jin ping must be thrilled with Trump’s Venezuelan operation and his recent utterances that China was free to do whatever it deemed fit in Tiawan.
China under Xi has been making war noises to take over Tiawan for long but has been unable to deliver the knockout punch which it might now to take over the patriotic Tiawanese who would be mighty disappointed with Trump but will not go down without a fight if it comes to that.
China’s ambitions in south china sea and Indian ocean are hidden from none as their desire for maritime supremacy has seen them sparring with Japan, Phillipines, Malaysia, Indonesia to name a few .
There regional aspirations will get a fillip under Trump and his hemispheric hegemony.
Trump’s Greenland overtures after his Venezuelan blitzkrieg has brought him at a tipping point with NATO & Denmark and does not augur well for the alliance which has been a mainstay for the western bloc against the erstwhile Soviet Union and the Warsaw pact alliance.
Just ahead of the Davos summit Trump posted an AI image of European leaders huddled in his oval office gazing at the world map which showed Venezuela, Greenland and Canada as part of the US.

Echoing this sentiment Von Der Leyen the EU commission President said that when she was preparing for the summit address ” security in the high north was not the main theme.”
