Bharat hit airbases with BrahMos Missiles before Pakistan could act, admits Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has acknowledged that Bharat launched BrahMos missile strikes on key Pakistani military bases before Pakistan could execute its planned response.

Speaking at an event in Azerbaijan, Sharif admitted that the Pakistani military, led by Field Marshal Asim Munir, had intended to retaliate against Bharat on May 10 after morning prayers. However, before dawn, Bharat’s long-range supersonic BrahMos missiles struck multiple locations, including the airport in Rawalpindi.

Sharif revealed that he was informed of the attack by Munir, who has since been promoted to Field Marshal. The Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi was among the 11 military sites targeted by Bharat in response to Pakistan’s drone and missile attacks on civilian areas along the western border. Satellite imagery analysis indicates damage to at least two military transport vehicles at the base.

Bharat also struck Pakistani military bases at Rafiqui, Murid, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, along with airbases in Skardu, Bholari, Jacobabad, and Sargodha, all of which suffered extensive damage.

Several reports suggest that Bharat launched approximately 15 BrahMos missiles from Su-30MKI jets for precision strikes, bypassing Pakistan’s Chinese-origin air defense systems. The BrahMos missiles, developed in collaboration with Russia, have a strike range of up to 300 km.
