Hindu Youth Subrata Das Brutally Hacked to Death in Noakhali’s Subarnachar — Growing Fear as Bangladesh’s Hindus Face Daily Violence

Another brutal killing has sent shockwaves across Bangladesh. Subrata Das, a young Hindu man, was savagely hacked to death in broad daylight on a public road in Subarnachar, Noakhali, while bystanders reportedly looked on in horror and fear.

According to local sources, a group of unidentified assailants attacked Subrata with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured on the spot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

Witnesses described the attack as “barbaric and deliberate,” noting that the killers acted without any fear of law enforcement. Police have launched an investigation, but no arrests were reported at the time of writing.

This incident adds to a disturbing pattern of targeted violence against Bangladesh’s Hindu community, which rights activists say faces daily threats, abductions, and killings across the country. Community leaders allege that Hindus have become increasingly unsafe, living under constant fear as law enforcement often fails to bring perpetrators to justice.

Minority organizations and human rights defenders have condemned the murder of Soumik Das, demanding urgent government action to protect religious minorities and restore public confidence. They warn that continued impunity and rising intolerance could have devastating consequences for communal harmony in Bangladesh.
