Jamaat-e-Islami channel MediaOne leads another attack in Lakshadweep

After the biological weapons controversy fizzled out, Jamaat-e-Islami propaganda channel MediaOne is trying to lead another attack in Lakshadweep. Out-of-focus, a chatshow on Media One’s TV channel, revealed the move to inject communal poison.

MediaOne propagated a dangerous separatist agenda that Lakshadweep is geographically closer to the Muslim nation of Maldives than to the Bharatiya subcontinent. They forget that Lakshadweep in Malayalam and Sanskrit means ‘one lakh islands’.

The Jamaat-e-Islami channel has kicked off a disinformation campaign that says that the development projects of 36,000 crore rupees announced by the central government in Lakshadweep will make life miserable for the residents of the islands. MediaOne warns that residents of Lakshadweep are not aware of the implications of development.

MediaOne is worried that the Muslim population percentage will decrease if the development comes in Lakshadweep, which currently has a 99.9% Muslim population. They even claimed wider roads are unnecessary in Lakshadweep.

In the discussion, MediaOne Managing Editor C Dawood declared that Lakshadweep is being made a sanctuary for the Bharatiya Army. There will be problems for the islanders. Hypothetically, Dawood threatened there would be a backlash if they were attacked.

Dawood also demanded that the delegation of I.N.D.I.A Front visit to the islands off the Kerala coast as soon as possible and lead the protests to stop the development projects.

It was MediaOne that used movie actress Ayesha Sultana to raise the serious allegation that the central government used bioweapons against Lakshadweep during the COVID period. Sultana is a Lakshdweep-based anti-national who hails from Chetiah island.

CPM leader and Rajya Sabha MP Elamanam Kareem & Kerala Indian National Congress leader V T Balram extended their support to orthodox protesters. As protests flared in the region, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran came out to support the Union Territory’s people, drawing the authorities’ attention. It later became clear that Sukumaran lacked a moral compass.

Our enemies allegedly paid the Mollywood movie industry to create issues in Lakshadweep. The ‘Save Lakshadweep’ campaign ran for some time after receiving responses from filmmakers but eventually fizzled out.

The MediaOne discussion reveals that some mysterious forces are trying to create unrest in Lakshadweep again. Malayalis now call the channel MediaFun, but what they spew is far from funny.

Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court extended an interim order, delaying the land acquisition proceedings on the islands. The administration wanted to reclaim land where farming was possible. The Lakshadweep administration has explained that the land will also be used to construct and develop roads, hospitals, schools, etc.

Last Thursday, the District Collector ordered the land reclamation in Lakshadweep. The Collector’s order stated that the land belonged to the state and was previously leased to the people for agricultural purposes. The government can take it back whenever it wants.

Some suspicious elements approached the High Court against this. Though the acquisition has been extended for two months, the plea will be heard again on 2 July.

The first petition against land acquisition was filed in December 2023, and the interim order was passed. Justice Viju Abraham is considering the petition.

Jamaat-e-Islami print media division Madhyamam is following this story vigorously. They are trying to incite violence by instigating locals to demand compensation.

Leftist propaganda camps are on a new mission to rekindle the Lakshadweep issue by spreading fear among locals. They claim the administration is trying to bring ‘Gujaratis,’ thereby evicting the 4,300 Lakshadweep residents working temporarily in fisheries, forest, and coastal sectors.

China has virtually turned the Maldives into its vassal state. Down to Earth magazine claimed that scientists have confirmed Lakshadweep has suffered the most from coral bleaching. Coral bleaching is a phenomenon that occurs due to severe heat stress.

Their report was based on Kavaratti-based Idrees Babu KK, a scientist at the Department of Science & Technology. He claimed the extent of bleaching is 84.6 per cent.

Is a new multi-pronged Save Lakshadweep campaign emerging from multiple sources? Who is behind such anti-national cyber/urban warfare?
