“The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Tuesday (1 August) apprehended Muqeem Siddiqui (21) in Lucknow on charges of spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and transmitting crucial information to handlers across the border.
This marks the fourth arrest by the UP ATS related to the ISI’s spying network in Gonda district within the past month. Muqeem Siddiqui, a resident of Gonda, was summoned to Lucknow, where he was arrested due to his suspected connections with the ISI.
Special DG, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar, revealed that surveillance and information from informants raised suspicions about Muqeem’s activities, leading to his arrest following a preliminary investigation at the ATS headquarters…..”
