“Al-Qaeda linked module in Ranchi: Dr Ishtiaq, his associates wanted to form suicide squad, were training with weapons, Delhi Police investigation finds”, Opindia, September 6, 2024:

“Al Qaeda-linked terrorist module’s head Dr. Ishtiaq who was caught from Ranchi in Jharkhand was preparing a suicide squad and had chosen a hilly area to execute his nefarious plan where he intended to bring his fellow terrorists and train them for the attacks.

These shocking revelations were made by him and other accused in front of Delhi Police. According to media reports, Delhi Police’s Special Cell had recently reached Ranchi with Ishtiaq, Inamul Ansari, Shahbaz Ansari, Motiur Rahman and Altaf to know the extent of their preparation for executing their plans.

The terrorists told the authorities that they used to visit Nakata forest near Chanho village in Ranchi. This dense forest has no habitation around it and hence the activities happening inside the thick woods go unnoticed which is why it was considered the most suitable place to train terrorists…….”
