Chhattisgarh pavilion steals the spotlight at Maha Kumbh, drawing massive crowds

The Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, a grand confluence of faith and devotion, has become a center of attraction for pilgrims from across the nation. As per Nai Dunia, among its highlights is the Chhattisgarh Pavilion, which has captivated the attention of devotees with its vibrant display of the state’s art, culture, and heritage. Located in Sector 6 near the Lakshmi Dwar entrance, the pavilion is a tribute to Chhattisgarh’s rich traditions and government initiatives, standing prominently opposite the Kalagram of the Government of Bharat.

The pavilion’s entrance, designed in the form of the Gaur Mukut, symbolizes Chhattisgarh’s identity and immediately draws visitors. The pavilion also showcases a stunning depiction of Bastar’s iconic Chitrakote waterfall, often called ‘Bharat’s Niagara.’ Inside, visitors are greeted by a statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari, the state’s cultural symbol, and displays of the four revered devi of the region—Maa Mahamaya, Maa Chandrahasini, Maa Danteshwari, and Maa Bamleshwari.

On the left side of the pavilion, a vibrant rural setting brings Chhattisgarh to life. This section showcases tribal art, traditional jewelry, Dhokra craft from Bastar, and depictions of rural life, clothing, and culture. The state’s animal and bird are also featured, symbolizing the biodiversity of the region. Visitors can explore replicas of historical monuments like Sirpur and Jaitkham, highlighting the state’s heritage.

The pavilion goes beyond cultural displays by providing detailed information about Chhattisgarh’s flagship government schemes. Using advanced technology such as virtual reality headsets and 180-degree video projections, visitors can learn about initiatives like the ‘More Housing More Rights’ program and the Rs. 3100 per quintal paddy procurement scheme. The innovative approach has generated immense enthusiasm, with visitors queuing up to explore these immersive experiences.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has ensured that residents of Chhattisgarh visiting the Maha Kumbh are well accommodated. The pavilion provides free food and lodging facilities for Chhattisgarh pilgrims. Devotees need only show their Aadhaar cards to access these amenities. Conveniently located near Prayag Junction railway station and accessible via road through Allahabad University and the Yamuna Bridge, the pavilion is a haven for pilgrims seeking spiritual and cultural connection.

The Chhattisgarh Pavilion has truly brought a slice of the state to Prayagraj, leaving an indelible impression on visitors and beautifully showcasing the essence of Hindu dharma. By blending cultural heritage with modern outreach, it not only showcases Chhattisgarh’s glory but also strengthens its identity on a national platform. This initiative reflects the state’s commitment to preserving its traditions while embracing progress, making the pavilion a must-visit highlight of the Maha Kumbh.
