Asianet news channel defaming tantris of Koodalmanikyam Mandir alleging ‘caste discrimination’?

Dear @RajeevRC_X,

It seems that your Asianet is on a mission to defame Hindu faith by resorting to fake news. After kumbh incident where you announced your intervention, Asianet has now started a campaign defaming tantris of Koodalmanikyam temple alleging caste discrimination.

It must be noted that the tantris of Koodalmanikyam temple from Tharananalloor mana have always stood for traditional practices and rituals across Kerala and have been doing their best despite government intervention to preserve the livelihood of shebaits working in their temples.

In such an incident, a person working for more than 5 years in Koodalmanikyam temple as Kazhakam was asked to leave by the government as the bureaucrats wanted to bring in a person of their choice for the post.

Now in Koodalmanikyam temple all the posts for Kazhakams are hereditary in nature and hence such an erratic appointment was an infirgement of the rights of 12 kazhakam families who have been dependant on this temple for centuries.

Despite being paid a pittance, these families have continued to serve in the temple with dedication and asking them to leave is a violation of Supreme Court verdict on Shivacharya case which has been validated by the rules of Kerala Devaswom Recruitment Board.

Hence, the tantris of the temple protested against this appointment and gave a letter pointing out the fact that appointing any person to a hereditary post results in violation of Kshetra Niyamam. This applies even if the appointed member belongs to a savarna community.

However, your channel twisted this genuine stand of Thantris to project as if the tantris are against appointing another “Ezhava” (OBC) person.

It is interesting to note that your channel which is alleging caste discrimination here has never uttered a word against appointment of Ezhavas alone in Parasinikkadavu or Varkala even in non hereditary posts. Is it because of the diktats of LDF?

Coming back to Irinjalakkuda, what your channel is doing now is pure slander and we will be assisting the Tantris of Irinjalakkuda in taking legal action against all media channels, which have amplified fake news triggered by your channel, for bringing disrepute to the tantris

These tantris over the past 7 decades have not only preserved traditions in temples but are also involved in various other pious activities like Gau raksha through @daksinvrindavan.

This open statement of ours is to merely point out the hypocrisy of the situation where in you claim to be standing for Hindu cause but your institutions seem to be doing the opposite. Hope better sense prevails
