Fast forward to the present day, the scenario has drastically altered, with Kuki settlements spreading across various districts such as Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, and others like Jiribam, Tengnoupal, and the Sadar Hills Development Block.
However, this demographic transition has not been without its controversies. The rapid influx of Kuki-Chin populations has raised concerns about the preservation of indigenous tribes like the Aimol, Tarao, and Khoibu, who now face the looming threat of extinction.
