“In a major development on Saturday (10th January), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved the Supreme Court against the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government after it obstructed its investigation in the I-PAC coal scam case.

According to reports, the central agency has filed a petition before the apex court under Article 32 of the Indian Constitution. ED has sought a CBI probe into the incident after the Mamata government curtailed its right to condct independent investigation.

As per the ED, the State government prevented the agency from carrying out searches and seizing relevant material. At the same time, it forcibly removed electronic devices and physical documents from the premises of IPAC and its co-founder, Pratik Jain……”
