Commercial establishments across Himachal remained closed for 2 hours on Saturday on a bandh call by various Beopar mandals seeking action against illegal construction of mosque across the state and the influx of illegal migrants.
The seriousness of the infiltration can be gauged from the fact that after demonstrations in Shimla Sanjauli and subsequently in Mandi protests have been carried out in Palampur in Kangra district, Sunni in Shimla district, Paonta sahib in Sirmaur district, kullu, Chamba, Bilaspur and Hamirpur against the illegal entry of Muslims with fake or dubious identity from Saharanpur UP, Assam, West Bengal & Bangladesh.
The protests in all districts of Himachal against illegal mosque structures and influx of muslims with dubious identity in Himachal is a pointer to an orchestrated attempt by fanatic islamists to gradually change the demographic profile of the State by infiltrating into all corners of the State.
Incidents of theft, street violence chain snatching and eve teasing have increased manifold as the local residents say. The hooligans who were involved in a brawl took refuge in the illegal mosque in Sanjauli Shimla which infuriated the locals as they had been noticing the movement of hundreds of Muslims in and out of the mosque over a period of time.
The protests in all districts of Himachal resonate the ire of the peace loving people of himachal against an attempt to disturb their peace and tranquility.
They are demanding a proper street vendor policy across the state as many of these anti social elements with criminal antecedents disguise themselves as street vendors and hawkers lining the pavements of crowded markets.
There is no doubt that their could be similar illegal Mosque structures all across the state harbouring and sheltering criminals and anti social elements.
The all party meeting convened in Shimla decided and authorized the speaker to form a committee of MLA’S drawn from both parties to formulate a policy for due registration and verification of all migrants entering himachal.
But until then the 5 storey illegal mosque structure should be immediately sealed by the government as per the demand of the locals till the commissioner court gives it’s verdict.
The government should launch an exercise to verify the identity of all migrants especially Muslims who have entered the state in the past decade and deport and arrest those with dubious and fake identities to preserve the peace and tranquility of the state.
